Crawdaddy R&B Club 1965 Membership Card
Original 3&7/8 x 3&1/4" 1965 membership card for the Crawdaddy Rhythm & Blues Club in Richmond (London), England.
Thick stock card has been filled in (Beverley Harris of Kingston, Surrey) with dark ballpoint pen, has a few handling creases, pencil scratch and a piece of clear tape on the reverseetc... a well used card, about a B/B- to B condition. The Crawdaddy Club is where both the Rolling Stones and Yardbirds had early residencies under the auspices of the legendary Giorgio Gomelsky, and was one of the seminal "must play" venues for almost the entire English Rock/R&B/Beat scene of the early '60's. The R&B "clubs" started to phase out by the mid-late '60's (when ballrooms and hippies started to take over...), this is a very uncommon piece from a very brief and important chapter in English rock & roll.
